🚀 Our Mission

Restoring balance and due process to FAA psychiatric oversight—including HIMS—through advocacy, legal action, public awareness, and peer solidarity for all pilots—whether flagged for alcohol use, drug history, prescription medications, mental health concerns, or suspicion without diagnosis.

📌 Why We Exist

Too many pilots live in silence and fear—not only those with substance issues, but also those flagged for SSRI use, mental health diagnoses, past drug use (legal or illicit), or even unfounded suspicion. We are building a national movement that protects whistleblowers, amplifies truth, and demands evidence-based medical oversight.

Our mission demands fairness, accountability, and dignity in every FAA medical determination—regardless of the diagnosis or lack thereof.

đŸ›©ïž Standing with All Pilots: Ending Stigma and Embracing Real Mental Health Advocacy

In the aviation community, mental health remains one of the most complex and misunderstood subjects. While great strides have been made in recent years to reduce stigma, promote access to care, and advocate for legislative change, there remains a stark reality that many pilots live in the shadows—unsure of who will listen, unsure of who will help.

At Pilots for HIMS Reform, we understand this reality all too well. We know that not all struggles are equally accepted or comfortably addressed. Some stories are inconvenient. Some challenges are labeled too complex. And some pilots are quietly turned away or overlooked simply because their circumstances don’t fit neatly within the boundaries of existing programs or campaigns.

But let us be clear: we do not pick and choose.

Our mission is rooted in the belief that every pilot—regardless of diagnosis, background, or bureaucratic status—deserves dignity, access to care, and a voice in shaping the policies that affect their lives. We do not exist to gatekeep or manage public relations. We exist to support those who have been failed by a system that often confuses control with care.

We know that confronting difficult truths is uncomfortable. But mental health advocacy that only includes the easy stories or politically convenient cases isn’t advocacy—it’s selective marketing. We reject that approach.

If you are a pilot struggling with any mental health challenge—no matter the diagnosis, history, or stage of recovery—we will advocate for you.

  • Those currently trapped in the HIMS program.
  • Those who have been denied fair process or labeled unfairly.
  • Those who seek recovery but not coercion.
  • And those who simply want to speak out without fear of retribution.

If your experience falls outside the scope of another organization’s mission, know that you still have a place here. If you’ve been turned away, silenced, or made to feel like your story is too messy to matter, we are listening.

Our door is open. Our advocacy is inclusive. And our goal is clear: to create a future in which every pilot’s mental health is met with compassion, transparency, and respect.

If you or someone you know is navigating these challenges, please reach out. You are not alone—and you are not without options.

Pilots for HIMS Reform: Fighting for fairness. Standing for all.

đŸ§± Our Pillars

⚖ Fairness

Pilots must be treated as patients—not liabilities or statistics.

🔍 Transparency

Medical decisions should be explainable, reviewable, and rooted in evidence.

🧬 Medical Integrity

Evaluations and monitoring must be free from financial or political bias.

đŸ€ Safety Through Support

Pilots should never have to choose between honesty and certification.

🌟 Our Vision

A just, transparent future where all pilots—regardless of whether they’ve used SSRIs, had a past substance issue, faced mental health challenges, or been flagged without clinical justification—are treated with dignity, supported without stigma, and protected from coercive oversight.

📍 Where We're Headed

đŸ›« Transparent Process

Clear entry and exit criteria, free from secrecy or subjectivity.

đŸ›« Alternative Models

Safe, evidence-based treatment paths outside the HIMS network.

đŸ›« Legal Safeguards

Real appeal options, whistleblower protections, and accountability.

đŸ›« Independent Oversight

Oversight of AMEs and providers by neutral parties—not insiders.

💬 Why This Vision Matters

The current system drives pilots underground and discourages honest reporting—not just for substance concerns, but also for mental health diagnoses, SSRI use, past drug experimentation, or non-diagnostic suspicion. We believe in a balanced, modern FAA medical system that promotes trust and safety without sacrificing constitutional rights.

Every pilot should be able to seek help or speak up without risking their career, freedom, or dignity.
